Minimum grade needed to graduate
Course(s) that use this one as a prerequisite
Honors version / section
All BS-EE and BS-CSE majors who entered the University before September 2015 should take BIO 110. For other options, contact the Chief Undergraduate Advisor for ECE. (Contact information can be found under Advising Resources.)
Juniors and Seniors will need permission to enroll in BIO 110. Students should contact the instructor, indicating that they need the course to graduate as a CSE or EE major.
BIO 110 plays two roles within the curriculum: (1) It satisfies the University's General Education requirement for a Biological Science; and (2) it serves as one of only three pure science courses needed for accreditation (with PHYS 151 and PHYS 152).
Students who have fulfilled the University's Biological Sciences requirement with a different course should contact the Chief Undergraduate Advisor for ECE. (Contact information can be found under Advising Resources.)
BIO 151 (Intro. Biology I) can be substituted for BIO 110.
