Notes

  • ENGIN 191 is an opportunity for first-semester Engineering majors to discuss and learn about global issues relevant to engineering. The sections are small (fewer than 20 people per section), so students will be able to participate fully and get to know their instructor and classmates.

  • ENGIN 191 is a required course for all engineering freshmen. However, there is no minimum grade needed for graduation.

  • Students who are PR-ENGIN or ET-UND-ENG will be enrolled automatically. If necessary, assigned sections can be swapped, subject to space limitations.

  • To find sections on SPIRE, search for ENGIN courses "greater than or equal to" 191.

  • First-semester students outside the College of Engineering may ask for permission to enroll in one of the sections. Contact Greg Brown (gbrown@acad.umass.edu, 413.545.2035) for more information. Decisions will likely not be made until the beginning or middle of the Add-Drop period.
